High-Speed Cyclist Fatalities in Southern California

The higher the speed of a car, the higher the risk for a crash with a serious injury or fatality. According to a report from the World Report on Road Traffic Injury Prevention, for every mile an hour increase in speed past the speed limit, the chance of an accident increases 3%.

Driver Arrested for Vehicular Manslaughter for Death of Cyclist in High-Speed Crash

Police charged a 34-year-old man with vehicular homicide after a fatal crash involving a pedestrian. The collision happened at the intersection of Tennessee Street and San Bernadino Ave Thursday night, May 7, 2020. An off-duty ICU nurse treated the cyclist before EMS workers arrived.

The victim was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. Police are still investigating the accident and more charges are possible.
