Lime Scooters and Defective Brake Injuries

You’re zipping along at 15 miles per hour on a Lime electric scooter when suddenly the wheels stop moving. Although the scooter stopped, you didn’t, and now you’re on the ground with a broken arm.

That’s allegedly what happened in February 2019 when the brakes on a scooter activated themselves on a 38yr old man in Austin, Texas.

In March, Lime announced it had replicated a bug in the firmware which, on rare occasions, could cause “…..excessive brake force on the front wheel can occur, resulting in a scooter stopping unexpectedly…..”

Lime patched the firmware and it’s rolling out to scooters now.

While hopefully you never experience your scooter abruptly stopping on you if you believe that you were injured by a defective scooter you should definitely speak to an experienced personal injury attorney with a record of success.
